Arundel Square, London

Ground modelling, surface water drainage and pavement design for the hard standing areas and land drainage design for soft landscaped areas. The basic concept for the surface water drainage scheme is to store the water on site as long as possible and discharge off site at a lower rate than that prior to development. The proposal to drain a new large deck area is to build-up the levels over the top with a mixture of topsoil and drainage aggregate to allow the water to discharge via slotted drains into a central manhole at the edge of the landscaped area. This technique ensures that the proposed deck does not add impermeable areas on site and its drainage arrangement reduces further the site’s run-off rate in comparison with the existing rates.
