Lady Eleanor Holles School, Hampton

A new visual and performing arts building for the Lady Eleanor Holles School, an independent girls' school in Hampton. We were appointed to provide both civil and structural consultancy services. The existing development is currently served by soakaways. Ground investigation works showed that the existing soakaways are not effective as they are located within the groundwater table which occupies a large volume of the system. Ground levels prevent gravity drainage to the local watercourse and public sewers. Therefore the surface water drainage design was developed based on a shallow permeable pavement infiltration system that also collects water from the roof areas.
