Structural Futures Committee Vice-Chair
17th January

We’d like to congratulate Arthur Coates, one of our structural engineers, as he’s been appointed to Vice-Chair of the IStructE’s Structural Futures Committee, building on his work with the group for the last three years.

His role with this ‘blue-sky’ think-tank is to explore advances in research and technology from a wide range of fields that could influence the future of structural engineering and advise the global IStructE membership. Past topics include the future of housing, innovate material systems, big data and AI, and more recently how engineers can tackle the climate emergency.

Arthur will update us on the agenda for 2020 next month, but in the meantime will be our social media #EngineerTakeover next week and will provide some interesting and exciting insights and ideas for future industry developments.
