Partner Ian Flewitt joined other industry leaders proposing an amendment to the UK Building Regulation 2010. The proposal outlines requirements on the assessment of whole life carbon emissions, and limiting of embodied carbon emissions, for all major building projects.
“Significant reductions in embodied carbon in buildings is a vital component in achieving nett zero in construction. A consistent, reliable and verifiable approach to embodied carbon assessment is needed to avoid mis-reporting and facilitate regulatory limits. The introduction of Part Z, used alongside Part L should finally give a framework for achieving truly low and zero carbon buildings. Price & Myers wholeheartedly support this initiative.” Ian Flewitt
