Brockholes Visitor Centre, Lancashire | Adam Khan Architects

The Brockholes Visitor Centre is an exciting take on a visitor experience in a nature reserve setting.
The buildings and open spaces form a village-like cluster, floating on a large pontoon. As well as giving unlimited flood protection, this brings the visitor into the magical territory among the reeds at the water's edge. Combining distinctive regionaly significant design with the need to be completely sensitive to the natural surroundings, it has been constructed using sustainable materials and techniques, particularly in the areas of natural resources, energy conservation and recycling.
