1-3 Regent Street, London

We were appointed by The Crown Estate under their St James Framework to complete Structural Engineering services on the renovation and extension of 1-3 Regent Street, which was originally designed and constructed c.1905-1910. The building has a riveted steel frame supporting reinforced concrete floors. The latter are formed using one of the proprietary early reinforcement systems in wide use at the time known as Truscon. Various repairs were completed to the façade which rectified damage caused by water ingress and rusting of the steel frame. The work included the reconstruction of the top two floors aimed at increasing floor area and ceiling heights. A new stair and lift core were also added together with a modern office entrance from King Charles II Street. The ground and basement levels were returned to retail use.

Completed 2015.
