106 Jermyn Street, London SW1

Conversion of a five-storey Grade II listed property into residential accommodation with retail at ground level. The work involved removing lower quality space to the rear, constructing a new structural frame which ties back into the original front. Access was very restricted via a narrow lane to the rear shared with two other sites, this meant designing smaller components to allow for small deliveries and lifting without a crane. Sensitive treatment of the retained building was required with the need to retain original features and stabilising thin clinker walls and sections of floor which were in poor condition. The existing drainage required upgrading and a build over agreement negotiated with Thames Water.
