Bandstand, De La Warr Pavilion, Sussex

A new bandstand on the terrace of the De La Warr Pavilion. The acoustic canopy is a semi-monocoque plywood shell, which is supported by a carefully detailed steel base. The wide spacing of the legs stabilise the canopy in the wind while a pair of wheels allow the whole structure to be moved between holding down points.

Completed 2001.
