Electric Wharf Bridge, Coventry

A 30m span steel footbridge over the Coventry canal, commissioned as part of a regeneration project, the bridge forms a key part of a new route between a redevelopment of an old powerstation and the city centre. The bridge’s deck is a single curving route that combines the main span and approach ramps in a horseshoe shaped plan. As the deck crosses the canal it is suspended from an steel arch, this has a triangular cross section that changes in shape along its length.
