Eric Hollies Stand, Edgbaston, Birmingham

New build 6000 seat spectator stand at the cricket ground. A steel frame structure supports a cantilevered precast concrete terrace and lightweight aluminium clad roof. The four identical modules of terrace and roof are supported on driven steel tube piles along the edge of the River Rea which runs to the rear of the site. A 4.5m in-situ reinforced concrete wall supports the lower edge of the suspended terracing and retains the mound of bomb rubble upon which the original terrace was built.

Completed 2002.
