Hallfield School, London

Two new blocks in the ground of an existing Grade II* listed infant and junior school originally designed to complement the original school designed by Denys Lasdun. There is a two-storey six classroom junior school block and a single-storey four classroom infants school block. The buildings have precast concrete floors and roofs supported on a steel frame and concrete foundations. The design and detailing of the precast concrete cladding panels in the elevations is to complement the elevations of the original building. The thermal mass of the concrete and the large overhanging canopies contribute to the buildings' passive thermal control.

Completed 2005.
