Lauriston School, London

A new primary school and Grounds Keeper’s house in Hackney provided as part of the Hackney Education Framework. The new school replaces an existing school, which had to remain in operation during the works, and which meant the development had to be carried out on a very restricted site and in phased blocks of time. The use of the prefabricated KLH timber panels that make up the main structure kept disruption to a minimum, reducing time on site and noise during construction. The panels are also cost effective as they remain exposed internally.

Completed 2010.
