Lecture Theatre, The Queen's College, Oxford

Creation of a lecture theatre and performance space in the walled Drawda Garden of Queen’s College. The design is for a canopy type structure that encloses the space but barely touches the listed stone garden walls. It is supported off colonnades along each side of the lecture space with stability achieved through the concrete core that houses the projection and media control room. Both ends of the building and the colonnade are fully glazed, while natural ventilation is drawn through the seating podium to create a controllable and comfortable environment.

Completed 2011.
