Music Research Centre, University of York, York

A new hall for an experimental music school designed to seat 200 people. The design of the structure and location of the speakers has been tuned to minimise the resonance within the auditorium. The new building is an extension to an existing building and has been partly dug into a hill. It has a part steel, part reinforced concrete frame.

Completed 2004.
