Project Tshela, Limpopo, South Africa

Built for a community close to previous years projects the Tshela project comprised a single classroom block for the local crèche. As with the previous University of Nottingham projects it was designed, funded and built by the students. Built within a very intense four week period the building included plyweb trusses, reinforced brick piers and block walls utilising a system of purpose built blocks, Stumbleblocks, which could be built quickly and simply. The moulds for the Stumbleblocks were donated to a local company who manufactured all the blocks for the project and then kept the moulds for future projects.

Completed 2016.
