Research Complex, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxford

This new three storey research building is part of an extensive redevelopment to complement the new Diamond Synchrotron testing facility and provides CAT 2 & 3 laboratory and write up space for visiting scientists as well as housing specialisms such as laser research. Vibrations had to be kept to an absolute minimum both during construction and in operation once the building was complete. Due to this requirement and the need for flexibility for future servicing, a reinforced concrete flat slab solution was chosen.

Completed 2010.
