Sheffield Joint Denominational School, Sheffield

A new school to replace two existing church schools, one Roman Catholic and one Church of England. The building was built in the grounds of the Catholic school while it remained open; it fits into the sloped site with both floors having level access to playground spaces. The structure is a steel frame with a precast concrete plank upper floor and roof on a reinforced concrete raft foundation. Large rooflights provide natural ventilation as well as natural light to the internal corridors.

Completed 2007.
