A new extension to the rear of the building accommodates a multipurpose performance and display space, a café and a crèche, and is connected to the existing building via a structural planar glazed link. The new building contains a substantial amount of exposed fair-faced concrete. A glass and steel bridge connects the two buildings at first floor level.
