White Hart Triangle, Thamesmead, London

A major mixed-use development covering 50 acres of West Thamesmead. It will provide up to one-million sq ft of business space for office buildings, industrial units, warehouses and service yards. The site was once part of the Woolwich Arsenal and there is up to 6m of fill. We have been involved with the design of six warehouses on the site and due to the difficult ground conditions the foundations are concrete piles taken down to the competent ground below. The buildings are long span steel portal frames. The parking areas are hardstanding and the drainage associated with them was designed to accommodate the expected movements of the fill. We are also involved with the design of a sustainable urban drainage system for the site, looking at global drainage strategy for subsequent plots to be developed, and assessing existing infrastructure to the whole site.
