Collonade Mews, London

The Collonade Mews development consists of a conversion of a terrace of five mews houses created within an existing building envelope which previously contained garages at ground floor and residential accommodation at first floor level. Price & Myers Sustainability were appointed to provide an energy strategy for the development and carry out an EcoHomes assessment to support the design team in reaching a 'Very Good' rating. We were involved in the project from early design stages and have extensively supported the design team to post-construction assessment certification. A 'Very Good' rating was attained through specification of an energy efficient upgrade of the existing building fabric and installation of solar thermal panels. Low energy light fittings and low flow water fittings have also been included to improve the sustainable credentials of the residential development. As part of developing a low energy design, we have also carried out daylighting calculations to ensure that the development receives good levels of internal daylight.
