Elizabeth II Court, Winchester

This project involved the phased refurbishment of a 1960s office complex in the centre of Winchester for Hampshire County Council. The existing structure was retained and a new façade and interior was installed. The office area was also extended down into part of a multi-storey car park. Price & Myers Sustainability supported the project team to maximise the BREEAM rating the project received by developing a strategy early in the design process and providing on-going support for achieving the criteria and meeting evidence requirements. The refurbishment includes a number of measures to enhance the sustainability of the building. The major measures include wind driven natural ventilation of the office areas and the reclaiming of waste heat from the large IT data centre. The project was certified BREEAM 'Excellent'.
