Hackney Road, London

The Hackney Road scheme is a five-storey residential development of 19 varying sized flats, with commercial space below. A proportion of the flats are affordable units, developed for Tower Hamlets Community Housing. We worked on the project from the very early stages through the entire process.
We developed an energy strategy to aid the design team in achieving the mandatory CO2 emissions reduction target for Code Level 3, as well as providing pre-assessment services to ensure other required measures could be incorporated. The development benefits from solar thermal panels for each flat, located on the roof, FSC timber throughout and good levels of thermal efficiency in the building envelope. The development was certified Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
