Ranger Mansions, London

Price & Myers Sustainability developed a BREEAM for Domestic Refurbishment and Energy Strategy for the Ranger Mansions development in Lambeth. The project involves the refurbishment of an existing five-storey residential property containing eight flats. The works include refurbishment and extension to create 13 new flats. A combination of passive design measures has been identified to help reduce energy loads. Significant improvements to the building fabric, energy efficient equipment, improved water efficiency and the use of occupant controls has been demonstrated to provide a 34.98% improvement over the existing property. Our energy strategy includes a new double-glazed sash windows and solid wall insulation. A 'Very Good' rating was achieved under BREEAM for domestic refurbishment. The daylight analysis of the proposed development ensures that good levels of daylight will be achieved within the proposed flats through glazing design, layout and finishes specification.
