Ryan Traynor
MEng
Structural Engineer
He/Him

Ryan had originally set his sights on a career in architecture. As a student, he took a summer placement in a respected Glasgow architecture studio, where he was also introduced to the world of structural engineering.

‘Working there was a very positive experience, but my mentor quickly realised that what I enjoyed most – and what suited me most – was the maths, physics and problem-solving.’ He harmonised his love of architecture with his technical prowess for structures and plotted a course towards engineering.

After graduating with a Master’s degree from Heriot-Watt University, Ryan joined AECOM. He gained valuable experience in the design and refurbishment of buildings in the healthcare and education sectors, as well as the retention and careful restoration of listed buildings.

He became a member of the Price & Myers team in the summer of 2021. Ryan has since been involved in a range of projects including small house extensions, complex new-build residential and larger developments, including the substantial refurbishment and extension of a Grade II-listed building on Regent Street’s inner crescent.

Ryan enjoys the exchange of ideas that comes from working with multi-discipline teams on such a broad variety of project types. It has developed within him a well-rounded approach to design and construction.
