More silverware for Illuminated River
5th November, 2020

With central London restricted it’s been a challenge to admire Illuminated River, the large-scale public artwork that connects the bridges of the Thames, this year.

That hasn’t stopped the project from gaining more recognition, this time as winner of the British Construction Industry Awards ‘Small Project of the Year’.

Designed by artist Leo Villareal and Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands Architects with FutureCity and Price & Myers, the artwork is an ever-changing light installation across 14 bridges, from Tower Bridge to Albert Bridge.

Part of the installation opened to the public earlier this year. The final phase is due for completion in 2023.
