National Railway Museum in York secures planning approval
10th August, 2022

Designed with Feilden Fowles and Max Fordham, the competition-winning scheme will transform the museum’s entrance and provide a 4,500 sqm gallery and gateway structure between the Great Hall and Station Hall exhibition space, improving visitors’ experience of the existing galleries.

The design is inspired by the site’s former railway uses, and expresses the team’s commitment to lower embodied carbon by employing a timber frame structure.
