Young V&A
London

We were on separate competition winning teams for both the base-build project and the new exhibition design for the re-launch of the Grade II* listed Young V&A in Bethnal Green. Originally built in 1857 in South Kensington as the first building of the V&A, the iron frame of the current museum was relocated to a new brick enclosure and foundation as the Bethnal Green Museum in 1872.

The project carries out significant structural alterations in the lower ground floors, a new goods lift, the integration of new services and a new feature staircase in the main ground floor hall along with extensive new external landscaping.

A new exhibition across all of the galleries includes installations and interactive exhibits with the aim of using the V&A's extraordinary collection to inspire the next generation of designers.
