Project Cornerstone
Crawley

This project is a flagship scheme to provide a 12,170 sq m Grade A office development for Elekta, a global leader in the development of state-of-the-art tools and treatment planning systems used across the spectrum of cancer care.

The new development includes two office blocks and two car parks. The larger, known as Block-A, is a five-storey office space with an atrium, exhibition area and a restaurant on the ground floor, and Block-B is a four-storey office space. The entrance is glazed to full height and the majority of the mechanical plant is located at the 4th floor and roof level.

The scheme is adjacent to and integrates with Elekta's existing UK headquarters on the five-acre site, combining both its research and development team, and its global product support and administration functions, which have been integrated into the new premises.

Elekta invented the world's first commercially-produced linear accelerator (linac), which delivers radiation in the form of high-energy x-rays to treat cancerous tumours. The company designs and manufactures the current version in its existing facility and is using the new building to develop a radiotherapy centre of excellence.

Completed 2018.
