BEAM
Glastonbury

To highlight the issue around threats to insect pollinators and in particular bees, Wolfgang Buttress created an immersive artwork for the Greenpeace Field at Glastonbury 2019.

Several thousand sustainably sourced timber posts were used to create a hexagonal network of spaces and paths. We advised on how to secure the posts to each other and in the ground, and avoided the use of carbon intensive cement by specifying a dry sand mixture to restrain the posts in 600mm deep holes that were bored into the soil in the field.

Completed 2019.
