Liminal
London

Liminal is a temporary sculpture by Wolfgang Buttress, installed as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2019.

The artwork is mounted on the Thames river wall adjacent to the Millennium Bridge and presents an ever-changing kaleidoscope of reflections from both the river and the sky.

The piece is made from intersecting reflective aluminium plates that form a rectangular diagrid. An aluminium framing structure holds the reflective plates in place and is used to clamp the artwork to the existing wall without using permanent fixings.

The project benefited from the contribution of former Price & Myers’s employee Ciaran Malik.

Completed 2019.
