Stephen joined Price & Myers in 2007 and became an Associate in 2017. He takes great pride in his work and considers himself fortunate to have been involved in projects varying from the careful refurbishment of buildings over 400 years old, the design of modern new buildings, and the integration of new elements with historic fabric. His projects have achieved a number of accolades including many Oxford Preservation Trust Awards, Concrete Building of The Year, and he was structural engineer for the first non-domestic Passivhaus Plus building in the UK.
For Stephen, good structural design is providing something that is simple and elegant. He'll work closely with the team to understand the specific project requirements and provide design and detail that will meet, or hopefully, exceed expectations.
As a child, Stephen took great pleasure in problem solving and building - this included LEGO™, treehouses and dens something which he believes influenced his decision to become a structural engineer. And now, he enjoys sharing his treehouse and den building knowledge with his children.
