Greenwich Gateway Pavilions
London

Located opposite the O2 Arena and next to North Greenwich Underground station, this project involved the construction of a high-quality flagship facility for Knight Dragon's development on the Greenwich peninsula.

A three-storey building provides accommodation for a café, restaurant and roof-top champagne bar, while a four-storey building houses a double-height gallery space at ground floor, with marketing suites located on the second and third floors.

Both buildings are curved in plan and are linked by a column-free, thin edged canopy at second floor level. A steel solution was developed which incorporated large cantilevers and tapered plate girders, many of which were precambered. Tight controls on building movements and member deflections were required to allow the use of continuous frameless glazed curtain walling.

Completed 2015.
